 DE QUEM FOI A IDÉIA DO CURTA?
A ideia foi de João Paulo de Andrade, diretor de “O Amuleto do Dragão” que reuniu uma grande equipe de profissionais de cinema para a realização desse trabalho. Ele é um grande fã dos filmes de Kung Fu e artes marciais e recentemente ficou admirado com os filmes do ator Donnie Yen interpretando o Mestre Yip Man.

WHOSE WAS THE IDEA OF THE SHORT FILM?
The idea was of João Paulo de Andrade, director of “The Amulet of the Dragon” that joined a great team of cinema’s professionals to the realization of this work. He is a big fan of Kung Fu movies and martial arts and recently was amazed with the movies of the actor Donnie Yen interpreting Master Yip Man.

QUAL A PARTICIPAÇÃO DA ACTION KUNG FU NO CURTA?
A Action Kung Fu teve um papel importante nesse projeto. A convite do diretor a nossa equipe foi responsável pela elaboração das coreografias de lutas, ensaios com os atores, além de apoio durante as filmagens. Também fomos responsáveis por cuidarmos da segurança dos atores durantes os ensaios das coreografias de lutas e principalmente nas filmagens evitando assim acidentes para não comprometer o andamento do filme.

WHICH WAS THE PARTICIPATION OF THE ACTION KUNG FU IN THE SHORT FILM?
The Action Kung Fu had an important work in this project. By the inviting of the director our team was responsible of the preparation of the fight’s choreography, tests with the actors, including support during the recording. Also we were responsible to take care of the security of the actors during the tests of the fight’s choreography and mainly of the recording avoiding the accidents to don’t prejudice the course of the movie.

NA PREPARAÇÃO DOS ATORES, COMO ACREDITA QUE EM POUCO TEMPO FOI POSSÍVEL REALIZAR UM ÓTIMO TRABALHO?
Foram 5 meses de intenso treinamento com os atores envolvendo condicionamento físico, além de prepará-los nas técnicas básicas de lutas e expressão nas coreografias. O primeiro passo foi elaborar com meu assistente Jardel Oliveira e Evandro Silva as principais coreografias de lutas que seriam utilizadas no filme. No primeiro dia de trabalho levamos 6 horas seguidas para desenvolver todas as cenas e técnicas de lutas que seriam mostradas no filme de acordo com o roteiro e storyboard apresentado pelo diretor.

IN THE PREPARATION OF THE ACTORS, HOW DO YOU BELIEVE THAT IN A FEW TIME WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO MAKE AN EXCELENT JOB?
It took 5 months of intensive training with the actors including physical conditioning, besides prepare them in the basic techniques of fight and expression in the choreographies. The first step was to elaborate with my assistant Jardel Oliveira and Evandro Silva the mainly fight’s choreographies that would be used in the movie. In the first day of job we took 6 hours straight to develop all the scenes and techniques of fight that would be showed in the movie according to de script and storyboard presented by the director.

FALE SOBRE O ELENCO DO FILME.
*Jui Huang, conhecido ator da Rede Globo que protagonizou a novela “Negócio da China” (2009), além de participações em seriados como “O Brado Retumbante” e “Malhação” (2012).
*Thiago Stechinni, ator e ex-praticante de Karate na adolescência. Ele é aluno da escola de teatro “Wolf Maia”, uma das mais renomadas do país. Grande amante das artes marciais hoje tornou-se membro da nossa escola de Kung Fu, além de ser integrante da Action Kung Fu.

*A atriz Daiana Kwai Lin Ng, atleta de Kung Fu e campeã de Tai Ji Quan da Seleção Brasileira de Wushu tendo conquistado inúmeros títulos nacionais e internacionais, além de exercer sua profissão como modelo.
*O ator Jorge Yoshida que participou em diversos papéis em curta metragens e propagandas.

SPEAK ABOUT THE CAST OF THE MOVIE.
*Jui Huang, known actor of Rede Globo that starred in the soap opera “China’s Business” (2009), besides participations in series like “The Resounding Cry” and “Workout” (2012).
*Thiago Stechinni, actor and ex-practitioner of Karate in adolescence. He is student of the theater school “Wolf Maia”, one of the most renowned of the country. Great lover of martial arts today became member of our Kung Fu school, besides being part of the Action Kung Fu.
*The actress Daiana Kwai Lin Ng, athlete of Kung Fu and champion of Tai Ji Quan of the Brazilian Wushu Team having conquest numerous national and international titles, besides exercise her profession as model.
*The actor Jorge Yoshida that participated in several roles in short films and publicity.


COMO FOI SUA EXPERIÊNCIA EM TRABALHAR COM ESSE ELENCO?
Para mim foi uma grande satisfação em trabalhar com atores dedicados, carismáticos e que amam o seu trabalho. Minha maior parte do tempo passei com os atores Jui Huang e Thiago Stechinni que já vimos preparando-os para as cenas de lutas. Somente nos ensaios finais tive o prazer acompanhar a atriz Daiana Kwai Lin Ng e o ator Jorge Yoshida nos ensaios de atuações.

HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE TO WORK WITH THIS CAST?
For me was a great satisfaction to work with dedicated actors, charismatic and that love their job. The most part of the time I passed with the actors Jui Huang and Thiago Stechinni that we already saw getting prepared for the fight scenes. Just in the final tests I had the pleasure to keep up with the actress Daiana Kwai Lin Ng and the actor Jorge Yoshida in the action tests.

SÃO DEZENAS DE TRABALHOS NO CINEMA, ACHA QUE SEU PREFERIDO É ESTE “O AMULETO DO DRAGÃO”?

De todos os meus trabalhos realizados no cinema considero sim esse o mais importante da minha carreira. Primeiro pelo fato por se tratar de um trabalho envolvendo artes marciais onde tive a oportunidade de expor minha criatividade nas cenas de lutas. Segundo por ser um trabalho onde tive total liberdade graças ao apoio do diretor João Paulo de Andrade e de seu assistente de direção Fernando Tiezzi.

THERE ARE DOZENS OF CINEMA’S WORK, DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOUR FAVORITE ONE IS THIS “THE AMULET OF THE DRAGON”?
Of all my cinema’s work I consider this the most important of my career. First for being a work involving martial arts where I had the opportunity to show all my creativity in the fight scenes. Second for being a work that I had total liberty by the support of the director João Paulo de Andrade and his direction assistant Fernando Tiezzi.

O QUE O CURTA METRAGEM TEM QUE NÓS NÃO VIMOS AINDA EM OUTROS?
“O Amuleto do Dragão” é uma produção “profissional” e séria. Tem uma grande carga dramática dos atores e espetaculares cenas de lutas apresentadas pelos atores que irão impactar o público. Tudo foi elaborado com muitos detalhes desde o cenário, produção, finalização, etc. 

WHAT DOES THE SHORT FILM HAS THAT WE DIDN’T SEE IN OTHERS YET?
“The Amulet of the Dragon” is a serious and “professional” production. It has a great dramatic charge by the actors and amazing fight scenes showed by the actors that will hit the audience. All this was minutely elaborated from the scenery, production, finalization, etc.

PODEMOS COMPARAR O CURTA “O AMULETO DO DRAGÃO” COM GRANDES PRODUÇÕES DE CURTAS QUE NÓS VEMOS NO YOUTUBE?

Não! Primeiro pelo fato desse projeto ser algo profissional envolvendo uma equipe com quase 40 profissionais e equipamentos de alta tecnologia. O Youtube é uma excelente ferramenta de divulgação, desde que saiba como usá-la, mas infelizmente há muitos grupos de Kung Fu dando o direito de se acharem que são profissionais atuando na área de coreografias ou até mesmo se achando diretores de cinema. Infelizmente essas produções caseiras denigrem a imagem da nossa arte marcial e sem falar que ofende toda a classe que estuda e ama o cinema.

CAN WE COMPEER THE SHORT FILM “THE AMULET OF THE DRAGON” TO OTHER GREAT SHORT FILM PRODUCTIONS THAT WE SEE IN YOUTUBE?
No! First by the fact that this project is a professional production involving a team with almost 40 professionals and high technology equipments. Youtube is an excellent tool for divulgation, if you know how use, but unfortunately there are many groups of Kung Fu thinking that they are professionals acting in the choreography area or even cinema directors. Unfortunately those home productions denigrates the image of our martial art besides offends all kind that studies and loves the cinema.

ACREDITA QUE PODEMOS CHEGAR Á REALIZAR UM GRANDE FILME DE ARTES MARCIAIS?
Sim! Vontade não falta para muitas pessoas que estão nessa área. Mas falta sim diretores e produtores que tem a mente aberta para explorar esse tipo de trabalho no cinema.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT WE CAN MAKE A GREAT MOVIE OF MARTIAL ARTS?
Yes! Willpower doesn’t lack to many people in this area. But does lack directors and producers with the mind open to explore this kind of work into the cinema.

ACREDITA QUE NO BRASIL TEMOS ATLETAS SUFICIENTES PARA UM GRANDE TRABALHO?
No Brasil existem muitos atletas com potencial para esse tipo de trabalho, mas é muito difícil encontrar um lutador que também tenha sua formação como ator. Isso dificulta o trabalho. 

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT BRAZIL HAS ENOUGH ATHLETES FOR A GREAT WORK?
In Brazil there are many athletes with potential for this type of work, but is too hard to find a fighter that also has formation as actor. It complicates the work.

QUAL A SATISFAÇÃO DESTE TRABALHO?
A satisfação foi grandiosa para mim participar desse trabalho. Foram incansáveis horas de ensaios e gravações, mas tudo feito pelo amor à arte e a profissão.

HOW WAS THE SATISFACTION OF THIS WORK?
The satisfaction was great for me to participate in this work. It took tireless hours of tests and recording, but all this made for the love to the art and the profession.

SOBRE O CURTA, PODE NOS CONTAR UMA CURIOSIDADE?

Muitas pessoas podem achar que um curta com aproximadamente com 20 minutos de duração pode ser realizado em poucas horas. Chegamos a trabalhar durante 12 horas seguidas no set de filmagem com previsão de 6 dias gravando. Além de contar com os meses de treinamento com os atores Jui Huang e Thiago Stechinni. Outra curiosidade do filme é que eu tive a oportunidade de executar uma cena de dublê substituindo o ator Jui Huang numa cena de queda.

ABOUT THE SHORT FILM, MAY YOU TELL US SOME CURIOSITY?
Many people think that a short film about 20 minutes of duration can be made in few hours. We reached 12 continuous hours working in the set with forecast of 6 days of recording. Besides the months of training with the actors Jui Huang and Thiago Stechinni. Other curiosity of the movie is that I had the opportunity to execute a stuntman scene replacing the actor Jui Huang in a scene of fall.

QUANDO SERÁ A ESTRÉIA E COMO PODEREMOS ASSISTIR?
A estreia de “O Amuleto do Dragão” está previsto para o segundo semestre de 2012 e seu lançamento será realizado em um evento em São Paulo, e logo em seguida estará nos festivais de curta metragens. A direção do filme pretende deixar disponível na internet para que todo o público possa conferir o resultado desse trabalho.

WHEN WILL BE THE PREMIERE AND HOW CAN WE WATCH?
The premiere of “The Amulet of the Dragon” is forecasted to the second semester of 2012 and its launch will be performed in a event in São Paulo, and after will be in festivals of short films. The direction of the movie want to provide it in the internet to everybody that want to confer our work.

PODEMOS ESPERAR A CONTINUAÇÃO DESTE CURTA OU OUTRA PRODUÇÃO DO TIPO?
Toda a idéia de um curta profissional ou algo do gênero seria alcançar uma realização grandiosa como, por exemplo, um seriado na TV ou até mesmo um longa metragem. Estamos muito confiantes com o rumo que pode tomar esse nosso trabalho, pois isso é algo inédito no Brasil além de inovador.

MAY WE WAIT FOR CONTUNIATION OF THIS SHORT FILM OR OTHER PRODUCTION OF THE KIND?
The idea of a professional short film or something of the kind would reach a great performing like, for instance, a TV series or even a feature film. We are sure with the course that this our work may have, because it is something inedited in Brazil besides innovator.
